Pick them, boil them, and eat them right away. Summer edamame

Good morning. It’s
gradually getting cooler in the mornings and evenings.

This morning, I’d like to talk about edamame. At

this time of year, we harvest edamame almost every day.

The variety we’re harvesting now is called “Yugari Musume.” It’s an edamame with a wonderful aroma and a sweet flavor.

Harvesting edamame begins by pulling up the entire plant—roots and all—from the ground in the field. From there, we pick the pods from the branches one by one by hand.

Edamame is definitely best when freshly picked.

At our house, we boil some water, then head out to the field to harvest the edamame. As soon as we get back, we boil them and serve them right away. When you take a bite of them

fresh out of the pot, they’re full of sweetness and truly delicious.Growing them in the

field, harvesting them, and eating them right away. It’s

very simple, but I think this is exactly the “farm-to-table” experience we enjoy every day.
