The rice ears are starting to turn color. There’s one month left until harvest.

It’s now mid-August, and the scenery in the rice fields has begun to change little by little.
The rice ears, which were still lush and green just a short while ago, are now starting to turn yellow if you look closely.

Each ear of rice is now filled with individual grains, and perhaps because they’ve grown heavier, they’ve started to bow their heads slightly.
Although the rice fields are still mostly green, seeing the golden hues mixed in makes me feel that autumn is approaching.

There’s about a month left until the harvest. Since we planted the rice

in the spring, the plants have been growing steadily, basking in the summer sun and rain.
From here on, the grains will continue to fill out, and the entire field will gradually turn golden.

It’s precisely because I look at these rice fields every day that I notice these subtle seasonal changes.

I’m looking forward to the day of the harvest arriving safely again this year and to enjoying delicious new-crop rice.
