A large rainbow spanning the rice fields at dusk in the fall
Yesterday evening, as I was out and about,
I looked up at the sky and saw a huge rainbow arching over the rice fields.
It was just around sunset.
The sky was tinged with pale pink and orange, and the rice fields, waiting to be harvested, glowed golden.
And then, a huge rainbow appeared, as if enveloping the entire scene. It was so large that I could see it clearly
from one end to the other, and it seemed to stretch from beyond the mountains all the way to the rice fields. Living in
this area, I’ve noticed that the sky’s appearance changes remarkably depending on the season and the weather.Even the rice paddies and mountains I see every day take on a completely different look depending on the sunset, fog, clouds, and rainbows.
Yesterday, I couldn’t help but stop in my tracks and gaze at the view for a while. The golden rice paddies, now ready for
harvest, and the autumn sunset—
and the huge rainbow spanning the sky above them. It was a scene from an autumn twilight that appeared for
just a brief moment.
