Sunset, Dragonflies, and Autumn Rice Fields
Around the time the rice harvest begins, countless dragonflies start flitting about us.
They dart back and forth over the rice fields or rest their wings in our yards.
Everywhere you look, it’s dragonflies, dragonflies, dragonflies.
This is one of those sights that makes you realize, “Autumn has arrived again this year,” when this season rolls around.
That evening, the sky was tinged with red and yellow, and night was gradually falling.
I happened to glance up and saw a single dragonfly resting on the hood of a car, its body reflecting the evening glow. From the daytime sounds of the
rice harvest to the twilight hours—here in Nishiki Town, as the seasons shift from
summer to fall, you can encounter little scenes of autumn like this almost every day.
